Turkish court gives 14 times life sentence for bomb attacks in Istanbul

A court in Istanbul has sentenced 14 people to life-long prison sentences for their involvement in two bombings near a football stadium in 2016. This fell to 47 dead. The attacks were claimed by the Kurdish workers Party (PKK)

In december 2016, exploded two bombs simultaneously near the Vodafone Arena of football club Besiktas. Among the dead were forty police officers. A further 242 people were injured. the

Four of the 27 defendants were 47 times life for the threat of the unity of the country and the committing of murders are premeditated. The four got in each 4.890 years for attempted premeditated murder, damaging public property, and having of life-threatening substances. the

Ten other defendants received life imprisonment, four others received 15 years in prison for membership of a terrorist organisation. Nine suspects are still waiting for the verdict of the court. One of those nine is in absentia.

The Kurdish PKK party, which for decades armed struggle against the Turkish authority, is in Turkey, Europe and the united states considered a terrorist organization.
