The light show on the Bridge

On Wednesday it will be 20 years since the öresund Bridge was inaugurated by queen Margrethe and the Swedish king Carl Gustaf.

And in half a year has been worked on to celebrate it by making a lighting that is turned on for the first time at 23.15 on Wednesday evening.

- We have worked with a tight schedule in order to be able to turn on the lighting for the anniversary. I am glad that it succeeded, and to pylonbelysningen delivers, exactly what we wanted. Lysprøverne shows an impressive and flexible lighting, which is significantly more energy-efficient and at the same time gives the bridge a totally true aesthetic expression, says Bengt Hergart, anlægsdirektør by the öresund Bridge.

Højbroens lighting systems are specially designed to withstand the specific wind and weather conditions at the Bridge. And the smalstrålede fixtures reduces light pollution and conserves much energy.

the Oresund Consortium expects that the new lighting system, which can now be controlled and dimmed as needed, can save on the consumption and creating a significant energy savings of up to 80 percent compared with the old lighting, which was sitting on the bridge in nearly 20 years.

Standardbelysningen on the pylons are white, but can change color for special events in the course of the year. Øresundsbroens jubilæumsbelysning, which lasts for about eight minutes, being turned on at 23.15 every evening from the 1.-5. July.

Øresundsbroens anniversary is celebrated also with a mini concert with Lukas Graham - in one of the bridge's four 203,5 metres high pylons. The concert will be sent live the 1. July at 20: 00 on the Øresundsbroens website.
