The danes in the could lead to a-race: We are half way now, although we are not halfway

is gone 19 grueling days, ago Mads Vangsø and Lasse Wullf Hansen called out from La Gomera to ro 5400 kilometres across the Atlantic as the Danish flavour by the year's Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

On new year's eve, they have, according to own calculations, rowed about 2000 kilometers, and even though they still have well over half the distance back, they can today make the half-way status. One day, as they have looked forward to with longing.

the Article continues under the picture ...

The two Danish participants has sent this picture from the boat. 'It is the new year's eve, so of course I have the skirt and top on. Not at all color-coordinated, but ugly is it. You marvel that the glasses has become fashionable again', writes Lasse Wullf Hansen about his outfit in the picture.

Such is the competition

participating in a total of 27 rowing boats in the competition, which begins on La Gomera and will end at the finish line well 5000 miles across the Atlantic to Antigua in the Caribbean.

Each team will compete against other teams with equal number of rowers. Mads Vangsø and Lasse Wulff Hansen is fighting against four other 'couples' in their category.

You can be 1-5 participants on a team.

How it is possible to make the halfway-status already now, deepening the Mads Vangsø on a satellite phone from a place far out in the Atlantic ocean:

- We use all sorts of mental grip to hang onto in one way or another.

- It is a long trip, it here. So how it works is that we say 'today we are half-way at the time. We are not half way in distance, but we are on the max. three days,' explains the former radio and tv host.

The Danish participants expect: to get a helping hand on the next part of the trip, which, therefore, should take place in a completely different pace than in the past. Hear how they expect to get help on the next stretch, in the video above the article.
