The well-known navigationsanlæg is needed. The major slippage came in earnest, when the car makes began to launch models with the option of Apple CarPlay.
the System, which makes it possible to connect an iPhone to the car's infotainmentskærm, made it possible to use the smartphone built-in navigationsapp, Apple Maps, for navigation.
In the autumn came a player more on the pitch in the form of the app Google Maps. The competing navigation was updated to work with the Apple system, and now pops the completely automatic up on the infotainmentskærmen, when the phone is connected to.
But what is the best? We have no doubt, after having tested both systems over a longer period of time in several different models.
First, however, we must once again note that it is not fun to be the owner of a smartphone with Androidstyresystem.
These phones are excluded from the Apple CarPlay-the universe, and the similar system, Android Auto, is not yet available in English. It is quite essential, since the systems which the starting point is voice-controlled with regard to road safety.
Both Google Maps and Apple Maps offers a beautiful and clear graphics. Both services also to the requested address entered by means of voice control.
We have previously had problems with the Apple system's ability to understand the addresses, and come up with the right proposal, but it has been much better.
Google Maps makes it just as good and has the clear advantage that map data here is larger, more dense and better updated. In practice, this means that we get far more correct hits when we mention the names of streets and cities for the app.
It also applies to companies and, for example, cafes and restaurants.
The player, however, also check the kind of car you drive in. When we tested the systems in cars like the new Kia Ceed and Peugeot 508, they have worked just fine, while we have had to abandon the endeavour during testing of the mikrobilen Toyota Aygo.
Here heard the systems consistently wrong, which both may be due to the massive amount of noise in the cabin, and that the microphone may is inferior. the

Follow the traffic
Once the address is entered, the works both navigation services quite convincing with regard to to find the way to the destination. And both systems have logical and meaningful graphics with clear infoboxes that appear in good time before the exits or roundabouts.
however, You have far more options in Google Maps. Here you can for example, deselect motorways, toll roads and railways, or opt-in to satellite maps with single kortbilledmateriale from Google. The app also has a trafikfunktion, with the color codes red, yellow, and green can tell whether there is a queue ahead.
the Function works fine, although you do not need to count with detailed information.
Red heralds the "stop-go" under 40 km/h., yellow heralds the drive of 40-80 km/h., and green a little higher speed. Gray means that there is currently no available information about the traffic on the line.
Both Google Maps and Apple Maps in the same general navigationsanlæg a built-in 'Points of Interest'feature, which can direct the user to, for example, restaurants, gas stations and hotels.
if you are Searching for restaurants, you are in the Apple Maps referred to them, who obviously have paid to be with, while Google Maps apparently take far more, smaller and closer to restaurants.
An additional benefit of Google Maps is that the system retrieves more information and also warns you if you have a view to arrive close to or after the closing.
however, It is not possible to get the designated restaurants along the route. You are looking instead in a certain radius from one's location, but it works well. the

Google Maps has the disadvantage that the service can not remember the addresses, which have been previously entered, unless one has been logged into their Google account.
It is quite tiresome, if you briefly go out of the system, and here lags Google's service, thus after the Apple, there may well remember the addresses.
Compared with the 'real' navigationsanlæg have both Google and Apple the advantage, that the services will be continuously updated. Thus, the risk, you no longer have to run after the obsolete card - the traditional navigationsanlægs biggest achilles heel.
Even if the navigation device is spritnyt, the cards can still be outdated, and they are typically only updated once a year.
Apple CarPlay can also work with the navigation service Waze, which relies on reports from users.
This app we have tested only superficially during the drive, but the navigationsog graphic parts are here, the more coarse-grained, and the oral instructions is done entirely in English.
Google Maps should also be able to show that an exit has been temporarily closed, and highlight alternative routes. However, it was not something we experienced during the test.
When we got past the construction of a new roundabout in the city of Haderslev, was the system in place and stall completely helpless.
So we had to instead go for the good, old-fashioned road signs.
Alone the many updates talk, however, that Google Maps is the most advance in køreskoene.
