TV host dropping christmas and gifts in the year: It is enormously expensive

Lene Beier can actually quite like christmas. Especially because the holidays with all the traditions gathers her family in crossword.

- For me, christmas always meant that I have seen many people. All have had free and thus had time to be together, says the popular tv host.

But in the years to Lene Beier neither see aunts, uncles, or cousins for christmas parties and gatherings.

- this year we are at home with us chosen that we should not keep christmas. As in, not at all, says 'Farmer looking for love'-the host.

In a month she along with her husband and their two boys travel around in Cambodia and Vietnam.

- It will be a journey completely without christmas and presents. We have talked with our children about, that it is a choice we have taken to ditch christmas this year. For some, it is not a choice. Here they simply can't afford it, she says.

Many families choose to travel out into the world at christmas, take a gift and a fairy in suitcase. But not the family Beier. It is either or.

- And so must we also travel around with a backpack, so there is no room to have gifts with. We must not again have iPads with, she says.

While Lene Beier boys don't get gifts for christmas this year, they can look forward to lots of time with their parents.

- We just need to be together. The here journey is an adventure with plenty of time for each other, she says.

- It is probably also the best gift one can give to his children?

- Yes! We must just play and enjoy ourselves. I must be the mother who just say yes when they ask whether we need to play ball. There is not just one or the other, I must.

- When you hold christmas at home, goes much of the time with the preparation, which is not together with the kids.

And so it is expensive to keep christmas. Enormously expensive, she says.

It is not the first time that the family Beier spend the month of december under the exotic climes.

- We also did this for a couple of years ago. There we held christmas at water's edge, where we sat and grilled. It was amazing, she says.

Lene Beier know, therefore, what she is going to miss at christmas. It gets to see the rest of the family.

Christmas will be however kept in Lene Beier's home, as tv viewers have been able to follow the making of in the program 'Beier builds'.

- We have some family moving into our house while we are away, she says.
