Selvmordslæge charged again: Cut down of the decoy

The retired doctor Svend Lings has again been charged with assisting in suicide, informs he to the news agency Ritzau.

Lings was in last year sentenced to 60 days imprisonment in the Supreme court for aiding two suicides and a suicide attempt. He will be convicted again, he risks having to serve his sentence.

Svend Lings explains that he has been the victim of a decoy.

A person by the name of 'Katrine' have written to him, to an 87-year-old man in her family is terminally ill with cancer, and troubled by pain. She will therefore have him to send a list of medications which can be used for suicide.

I responded with the following: 'Hi Katrine. The instructions attached to it. Yours Sincerely Svend Lings', writes Svend Lings to Ritzau.

But the note was a trap. Subsequently he was contacted by the police, who have raised the charge against him

- yesterday I got a visit from two nice criminal police officers, who told that the story was fiction, but that 'Katrine' had reported me to the Central Police, which now has raised the charge for violation of the criminal code, Svend Lings.

Svend Lings were famed back in 2017, after he starred in a radio program on Radio24syv. He starred in his capacity as a member of the association of Doctors for Euthanasia.

In the programme, he explained that he had helped more than ten patients to die.

His opinions led to a police report from the Agency for Patient safety, and the police came out, searched his home, the seizure and aimed Svend Lings.

the Prosecution raised charges against Lings in three cases. In the district court, he was in one relationship where, but in the court of appeal and the Supreme court, he was convicted of it all.
