River dangerous road bridge down: Cost 43 lives

For many local sends the sight still mind back to the fateful day of 14. august 2018.

The remaining sections and the large gap in between, the witnesses remain about the tragedy, which unfolded as the Morandi bridge in the Italian Genoa suddenly collapsed and sent several road users to be put to death.

Just a single glance is for the 53-year-old Egle Possetti enough. Her sister Claudia, Claudia's husband and their children aged 16 and 12 years were killed in the collapse.

- For us it is to see the design split in two, each time we come over, really terrible. And to think that 43 people lost their lives under, and that virtually all were young people, she tells the news agency Reuters on Thursday.

The Italian government, shot in the aftermath of the collapse the blame on the operator Autostrade per l'italia for the inadequate maintenance of the connection. Autostrade has in turn denied any wrongdoing in the disaster.

the Responsibility for genopførselen has been awarded Italy's biggest builder Salini Impregilo and skibsbyggerne Fincantieri.

the Demolition and reconstruction of the new bridge is expected to take approx. 15 months.
