Recycled stone and good brolæggerarbejde wins an award

Look down. Although it might immediately is the new cultural center in Tingbjerg, which, with its pointed, triangular shape and high glass façade catches the eye, then store the square front of the equally impressive craftsmanship. Here is the old English cobblestones have been reused and posted with respect for the old brolæggertraditioner.

the Square is distinguished to such a degree that the landscape architects Kragh & Berglund has received Brolæggerprisen for belægningsarbejdet.

It is 33. time, Brolæggerlauget in the Danish Construction association award, designed to celebrate and recognise good belægningsarbejde.

Although Brolæggerprisen always being given to the adviser, the architect or the developer behind a project, so, the price is also a big pat on the back for the brolæggere, who have laid the stones. And this year is C. C. Brown's Enterprise, who can boast of having put vinderstenene.

- It is a big honour for us to win, and so, of course it is nice to get praise and recognition for having made a good piece of work. We were up against some really talented people who have a handle on what they're doing, so we are really happy, says Niels O. Nielsen, brolæggerformand at C. C. Brun Enterprise. the
special stones
That it was deposited in front of the new cultural center in Tingberg, who ran with the victory, due, among other things, that there is emphasis on the reuse of the existing stone.

The new space is coated with chaussésten, vådstøbte betonfliser and sharp-edged cobbles, and it has been an especially great pleasure to work with especially the latter category, says Niels O. Nielsen:

- the Cobbles, which have been recycled in the project are English cobblestone, and it is simply a great stone to work with when one is built. Unfortunately, it is rare, we have encountered them. They are completely clear-cut and clean in the cut, and therefore one can put them according to quite precise objectives, as is the case in Tingberg. It gives the finished result a quite sharp look, he says.

The only challenge, brolæggerne have had with the stones, is, according to Niels. O. Nielsen, that the first should be lifted up and be sorted.

- But there is nothing to complain about when you get a chance to work with such a good stone, " he says.

Although the English cobble is a rare acquaintance for brolæggerne, so is the focus on recycling and, for example, lay the old stones, again, not foreign to C. C. Brun Entreprise.

- Reuse is gold, and we can feel that it has become even more widespread than in the past, because our customers are also thinking on the environment. In addition, old stone that has been worn for over many years, often much nicer than brand-new stone, says brolæggerformanden.

the Danish construction association Brolæggerlaug roses also brolæggerne from C. C. Brun Enterprise to have placed the stones with great precision and respect for the old brolæggertraditioner. It evokes the pleasure of the president.

- We have always done a great deal to enforce craft and maintain respect for what we have now even learned at school, when we took the training. Things must be done properly, and then it's nice to get recognition for it, says Niels O. Nielsen, who himself has worked as a paver in the past 25 years.

Kulturhuset in Tingbjerg was one of five nominated projects. In addition to the winning project was also a pedestrian street in Esbjerg, which is inspired by the seabed, a square in Grena, who directs the mind back on the city's industrial heyday, a promenade in the popular tourist attraction and a number of small ponds and channels to lead the water away by floods in Ringsted, nominated for the award.

With the price follows the dkk 25,000, which is earmarked to find new inspiration and knowledge in the field of paving. Brolæggerprisen was first awarded in 1986.
