A city boy, visible sproetjes on a dark colored model and a young boy with vitiligo: the new sportcampagne for children and young people Primark celebrates diversity and that falls in the taste.
“I showed the campaign to see my mother who was also in vitiligo is suffering, and she had immediately smile,” someone writes, for example, on Twitter. “Amazing that Primark understands that clothes only on "perfect" models do not show more of now is,” find someone else. “My aunt also had vitiligo, and I immediately thought about her thinking when I have the pictures I saw. Everyone thought namely always that they was dirty. They would be so happy if they are ads like this still could see it,” Tweet a girl.
Becky Hewitt, CEO of the charity Changing Faces that discrimination, tells The Independent why it is so important that such a large fashion chain is committed to diversity. “The people that we assist tell us often that they have never had someone like them have seen in magazines and campaigns and has a great effect on their self-confidence. We hope in any case that more brands the example of Primark will follow.”
