Pressure on land: Here throws the walrus in death

Floods, starving polar bears and icebergs collapsing the - scenes, we automatically associate with the climate change exposure of the world as we know it today.

A new Netflix documentary portrays, however, a more direct and dramatic consequence.

In the 'Our Planet' we are thus shown how the walruses - confused by the shrinking ice cover and their concurrent poor sight - involuntarily throwing themselves in death, as the clip above shows.

The big animals looks only good, when they are in the water, and do not therefore understand how high the cliffs are.

All they know is that they have to join the flock at the bottom and find food, " explains the show's narrator, the famous naturalist and facilitator David Attenborough.

- When they get hungry, they have to return to the sea. In their desperation to make it, falling hundreds from the heights, they never should have moved up in.

It is the shrinking ice cover, which makes ever-more walruses find their way to the real country, " explains world wildlife fund WFF, there is the co-creator of the series.

Here are the highly susceptible interference from people, aircraft, and predators such as polar bears, which may scare them and chase them in 'blind flight' in addition to, for example, rocks, as in the video clip.
