Mysterious finds: Strange stenæske with tiny lama inside may used in gold

A 500-year-old stenæske with Inkaofringer has been found in the river Titicaca in Bolivia.

Inside was a tiny lama made of shell from a mollusc and a similar tiny gold bracelet.

It writes NewScientist according to the Science.dk.

the Objects have apparently been used in connection with the bloody human sacrifice, which the inca people were known for giving to the river.

It takes at least an archaeologist Christophe Delaere at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium, writes NewScientist.

We have previously found the specificity of the pairing of similar things, such as llamas and bracelet, in places where you know that the incas many years ago did human sacrifice.

the Discovery adds more to the understanding of the whole river as holy (for the inca people), " says Delaere to New Scientist.

the Inca empire existed from about the 1100's forward to 1533 and was at its peak, the greatest civilization in the world. The last inca emperor was killed by europeans in 1933.

the Study of the find is published in the journal Antiquity.
