Mixed reactions on Mallorca's new alcohol rules

No alcohol consumption on the streets of Palma de Mallorca. The residents are relieved about the new rules - and the tourists? A loophole for the vacationers.

Cain from Chemnitz earned his money with Party and holiday makers. He organized trips for tourists, where beer and Sangria under the sun an important role. These trips will no longer be in this Form in the future.

Biel Barceló grew up in Playa de Palma, who has been living for decades there and witnessed the rise of the binge of extremism first-hand. Today, he is Chairman of the neighborhood Association of Playa de Palma. He makes it clear: "We don't need Pseudo-tourists. For me, this Drunken are no tourists. What do you do, you can do any other place in the world, at home. You want to hire in your city in an apartment and have a Party. This doesn't have to be here in Mallorca."

Only in Local and outside areas

In the town hall of Palma you can see it is similar to, and explained to the party zones of the city to "areas of special tourist interest". There, in the future, no one is allowed to take more drinks and food from the pubs, on the street, like so many of Majorca-holiday to do especially in the summer.

eating and Drinking will be allowed only in the Local. This includes areas that are separated from the road, for example, through a fence to come outside.

Who is not adhering to the guidelines, to pay fines of up to 3000 Euro. Palmas mayor Antoni Noguera says: "We want to control that in the public space, any groups are gathering more and together to drink. Such people, for example, with Sangria from buckets full run, give a good image of the city. Therefore, you are not allowed to drinks and food more from Local take-away."
