Admittedly, the more energy-efficient than the equivalent petrol engine, but more difficult to clean from acidifying and harmful nitrogen oxides.
By building in 48 volt mildhybrid in a gasoline engine closer to the diesel low consumption. And any additional the purification of the nitrogen oxides is not required.

south Korean Kia takes on the problem with a wider grip. Even their diesels get 48 volts!

It allows the diesel to start faster and it also gives an extra boost in acceleration. Furthermore, the recycled energy when it eases on the gas and when it slows to a small battery of 0.46 kWh.
