Merkel refuses to participate in the G7 summit in the UNITED states

The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, rejects an invitation from president Donald Trump to participate in a G7 summit in the UNITED states in June.

A spokesman for the German government refers to the general 'pandemic situation'.

- the Chancellor thank president Trump to invite her to the G7 summit in Washington in late June.

As it looks in the day and the overall pandemic situation taken into account, so she can not make a commitment to personally participate in a trip to Washington, the spokesman said.

the G7 summit should have taken place in march. But the rapidly growing coronaepidemi the world over meant that the meeting had to be postponed.

The new specified meeting shall take place in Camp David outside of Washington.

Trump said earlier this month that he would rather have a personal meeting with the leaders of the G-7 countries, Germany, united kingdom, France, Italy, Japan and Canada than videoconferencing.

the Meeting was originally scheduled to take place at Trumps luxurious golf hotel in Florida. But after criticism that it had to happen on one of the Trumps private hotels, it was moved to Camp David.

It is a country house for the sitting president of the UNITED states.
