Johan Styrud is the chairman of the Stockholms läkarförening and the physician on the surgeon at Danderyds hospital. He has previously been critical of the konsultdrivna the reorganization on the university and how all the emergency hospitals in the region affected by the centralisation of it that are counted as highly specialized care.
Karolinska now is laying off 550 employees understand the he is necessary, given the economic situation.
"But it is regrettable and very sad that you need to do it in this drastic way," says Johan Styrud.
is said to apply to administrative services, he sees risks for the rings on the water.
" we have big fears that it will affect the health care system. In the end it is the patients who suffer. There are all sorts of troubles, " says Johan Styrud and continues.
– It is a sequence of care, from the simplest health center to the most highly specialised healthcare services that shall hang together, and, of course, you feel now in the whole region, a concern that you do not have an eye on the economy and how to create a sustainable work environment.
the region is a good employer that takes responsibility for its employees in the long term.
" You've had a poor human resources – work environment and tystnadskultur – which meant that they had been forced to take in hyrpersonal which in turn drives up costs. And so it will be like this.Johan Styrud, Stockholm läkarförenings chairman of the board. Photo: Lisa Mattisson
Johan Styrud see the new organizational form that began to be introduced at the Karolinska 2016, and the way it was introduced with the help of the consultancy firm the Boston Consulting Group, as a strong contributing factor to the current situation.
" the Man has painted himself into a corner at the hospital with the new operating model, the thematic treatment and the closure of large emergency departments. Now unravels the impact on the economy.
He points out that the hospital should now back off and realize that you have done wrong.
" I believe that you need to take a correctly and look over this organization. I think that the thematic care have lived to finish.
" it goes back to how health care has been organised in the past, with clinics, and for example, a urological, orthopaedic, a hjärtmedicinsk title, etc. An organization where one can take care of the severely ill, co-morbidity, patients who do not fit into this new, modern healthcare at NKS.
That co-morbidity does not fit have the DN previously described, and the board of directors also held. Employees at Karolinska testify that they engaged in civil disobedience and caring for patients with multiple diagnoses, despite the fact that the new organization – with highly specialised, narrow, diagnosflöden – really don't allow it.
a large part of the problems could have been curbed if not confidence in managementmodellen sold by consultants at the Karolinska, as DN told you about in a long series of articles, been so strong.
" I am critical of the consultants in most areas. Consultants may have to solve some small things. It is the big things must have their own employees as the business can. The consultants on the NKS have been a bad thing all the time.
