Jute found the submachine gun in the garden

Under the chirping of birds and the spring sunshine did a 30-year-old man from Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon a startling discovery in his garden.

When he was in the process of digging out to a carport, he discovered something strange hidden in the earth.

- It is, among other things, an old MP40 submachine gun and much ammunition. There was between 200-300 rounds in a rusty våbenkasse.

And we ran, of course, and retrieved the objects, which is now in police custody, says Erik Lindholdt, vagtchef at the South Jutland Police to Ekstra Bladet.

But it is without a doubt a long time ago, to the now rusted weapons have been in use.

- There is probably talk about the weapons back from 2.in world war ii. The gun is German, but it is not to say, of some resistance fighters have captured it.

- We assume that it most likely is from the occupation, says vagtchefen.

Since the weapon is in very poor condition, it will probably soon be destroyed, police said.

- Unless there is a museum, which might be interested in it for history's sake, will the grease gun be destroyed. It is in very poor condition.
