Jessica Ritzén: To film an accident can never be a samhällshot

Where and when needed, of course, something else entirely. The woman who had been injured when the car went of the road down in the water was already on the way in the ambulance. But her husband who run the olycksbilen went around in circles, clearly shocked.

I approached him for an interview. He spoke incoherently and became quiet only when I put my hand on his shoulder. As I recall it is called I never the editorial office and said that I had even been on site. I had nothing sensible to report.

and deeply troubled when the mobilförbud in distress is heard. In case of an accident on the E4 highway, recently seized several mobiles by the police. Three people accused of unlawful invasion of privacy to have filmed the fatal accident. The police felt the unease and outrage over the people's indifference to what had happened.

But what is an invasion of privacy when an accident is not determined there and then. Pictures and movies of what happens in society can never be dangerous. The only really dangerous would be if we were forbidden to document what happens.

what if no one was allowed to shoot when a plane crashed into the World Trade Center? We had thought of it at all had happened? There are people who even today claim that it never happened.

I am thinking of your mobile movies on the abuse of the SL-guards in the subway. Would we ever know what happened if it were not for their documentation? Or ill-treatment of women and men or polisövervåld at demonstrations. Should we be banned from filming in public places?

us around the clock with cameras in order to protect us, then why should individuals films constitute a samhällshot? To depict reality can never be a danger to society, however, it would be fatal if we were forbidden to tell you what happens.

we will Then take a position on what is relevant and important to publish. For unlawful invasion of privacy will be argued, the films have a deliberate intent to violate or harm anyone.

We have the press and freedom of expression and freedom of the press in Sweden. Rights that are far from obvious in many countries of the world and the foundation to be able to assert that we live in an open society.

These may no one can take that away from us. Not even the police.
