84 million tablets with a 'Captagon'logo with a weight of about 14 tonnes and a market value estimated at around a billion euros, or about 7.5 billion dollars, have been confiscated by the Italian police in the port of Salerno, near Naples.
It writes several Italian media, including la Repubblica.
According to the Italian police it is the biggest catch of Captagon in the world.
The seizure was made by the special committee on Gico, investigating organized crime, after prolonged inquiries.
many pills are thought to originate from the Islamic State, which is largely being funded by narkosalg to, among others, the European, and which produced large amounts of Captagon in Syria.
The many millions of tablets were found in the industrial papircylindere in three containers on board a ship.
After the discovery, the three containers are transported to a separate area for closer inspection. The cylinders, which contained about 350 kg of tablets, each, was designed in such a way, that the police 'scanners' could not intercept them, as they were hidden in a inderlag on the about two meter high cylinders that are 140 centimeters in diameter.
Captagon is among other things become known as 'jihad-drugs', because the terrorists that stood to the attacks at the Bataclan in Paris in 2015 had ingested the substance.
the Drug should among other things lead to indtageren neither feel thirst, pain or fatigue, and it therefore provides, among other terrorists a greater endurance.

It is far from the first time that the Italian police catch a forsending of the substance. Thus, only a few weeks ago, they confiscated over a million tablets, also in the port of Salerno.
Italian authorities estimate that the recent discoveries of about 84 million tablets are enough to supply the entire european market.
We believe that coronakrisen has meant that the production in Europe is as good as gone in the stand, why organised criminal groups instead have imported drugs from Syria, where production has not been set.
the Police now need to investigate further, who is behind the import of major quantities of drugs.
