In Flanders, in 157 of the 300 municipalities electronic voting. Only in the Eastern part of Flanders, Lochristi, they are between the municipal elections of October last year and now switched to the voice response computer. In 143 municipalities are still using pencil and paper vote.
Switching from pencil and paper to voice response computer costs money, of course, the main reason why in 2018 and 2019, yet not each branch is switched. In West-Flanders for example, they can, but in nine municipalities of electronic voting. Also in East-Flanders agree the majority still pencil and paper, while in Antwerp only four municipalities have not been changed. Also in Flemish-Brabant and Limburg agree the majority are electronic.
all the nineteen Brussels municipalities vote electronically.
All else is in Wallonia: there is chosen to continue to vote in the traditional way. Only the inhabitants of the nine municipalities of the German-speaking community votes on the computer, all the other Walloon municipalities use pencil and paper.
