Heavy sound for heavy boys

It is easy to get lost in the woods of the companies that produce headphones. The market is also gigantic and spits several times a month new models out.

When it comes to JBL, as we have tested over-ear-headphone CLUB ONE from, however, we are talking about a heavyweight, tightly bound together with several other heavyweights.

CLUB ONE, which also has two cheaper models in the series called 950NC and 700BT, is however its very own in the heavier category, when it comes to premium headphones. It is at the same time, a new category for the JBL, already is big on low-priced headphones to the wider masses.

It can certainly not say that the top model, CLUB ONE is. It is a model that is built in leather and aluminum. And as JBL has drawn sharply up of a number of reputable DJ's in order to develop.

We are talking here about a headphone, which requires the user to be engaged in the sound. In other words it is more of a desktop model than a lightweight and mobile device you have on anywhere.

in turn, delivers CLUB ONE item in the form of a detailed and wide soundstage, which is worth to lay ears to. It is a pleasure for those who go up in the music and would like to pay for it.

Less enjoyable is the electronic side of the matter: the app. I have already criticised the JBL's app in a review earlier this month. And my experience has been so frustrating during the test of CLUB ONE.

Thus, it has been a struggle to get the headphones to connect to the app, I have not had the great luck to get the Google Assistant to be working as it should, and I managed to destroy the first of the two testsæts, when I updated the firmware.

the Latter is, of course, the ultimate nightmare, if you buy an expensive headphone, which then die a few hours after you have opened the sales box.

I'm also not crazy about the way that the buttons on the CLUB ONE is committed. In the left side sitting a big button on the outside of the device, which I was pleased to set to volume or other functions that I need. But Google Assistant is locked to the button, which is the best and most useful on the headphone.

instead, one must feel his way to the small buttons, which sit on both sides. It can be learned, but it's never been really good and annoys me still.

And no, the JBL, I'm chasing is not a touch solution, but the buttons are logically placed and have the wisest size and separation. It is something as special buttons on the right side for the volume and musikkontrol suffering.

And the verdict? After all, the CLUB's ONE player of many good bars and live specifically to the requirement to deliver good sound. It is a good thing.

But as an overall package we are not quite there for the price and the expectations, as JBL puts the buyers in view.
