From the Gangster-Rapper in the Eastern part of Switzerland to the comedian in Zurich

A young man steps onto the stage, dark-skinned, rather small, in the Hand a Drink. He looks into the audience: "it still Has other dark-Skinned here?" No one answers. "It's a pity, because we Black welcome us in Switzerland. In the same way as the bus driver."

The man who reaps on the small stage in the Zurich Longstreet Bar just for a laugh, called Kiko. He performs every Wednesday evening by an Open-Mic night. Young Comedians will perform a ten minute programme. Kiko, who is actually Frank Cabrera Hernandez, announces only the artist, but fills in the breaks with his own jokes. It is his night, he has him initiated.

His appearance is prepossessing: The topics he addresses, beyond the sheer everyday-even one, the to perform a lot of other Comedians. "I'm trying, what I experience, really get across," says the 34-Year-old in a Café in Helvetia square in Zurich. And this everyday life is that of a dark-skinned in Switzerland.

On the stage that sounds like this: "Already at the first gym class, in yeast hofen, the teacher asked me if I wanted to play the black man." He had said "Yes", but then noticed that the idea was particularly good: "The others were not really afraid of me."

"We were quickly made the scapegoats in the village"

Kiko is regarded as a Talent in the booming Swiss Stand-up scene. His evenings in Longstreet have developed rapidly to a point of reference for a young Generation of Comedians. Kiko herself has brought it within just two years, from Nobody to the scene Size. It occurs in the interlude of Stefan Büsser and this year won the Talent Award of SRF. His first solo program is in the planning stage.

It seems to be his role: the young Black people in rural Switzerland. And the experiences he made as such in the village of yeast hofen. In 1991 emigrated to his mother, Kiko, two brothers and a sister from the Dominican Republic. His stepfather, a Canton of Thurgau, the family left shortly after the arrival was. The new arrivals were henceforth on their own. "We were quickly made the scapegoats in the village," says Kiko.

His brothers and he were in the focus of the police and the authorities: "often wrong." Of course they were not innocent lambs, but you continue to have them while accused – because of thefts in the village, because of damage to property, due to töffli lawn. The family moved to the neighbouring village of Amriswil, but even there the situation is not improved. Only in St?Gallen, where Kiko visited the business school, was he in Switzerland. His brothers now work as a window Builder and as a Promoter.

Kiko told all of this without point and comma. When he speaks, you can't easily get the impression that there is not so much language for the many stories that lie dormant in him. The best he types in his phone in order to process them later punchlines to. The everyday life dictated to him reliably.
