Eyewitness in Sri Lanka: the Danish family lost three children

It is perhaps three Danish children, who perished during the attacks in Sri Lanka.

It tells øjenvidnet Kieran Arasaratnam, who the BBC has interviewed about the incident. He survived the explosion at the Hotel Shangri-La, because he had forgotten his credit card. Therefore, he was not in the restaurant when the explosion happened. On his own facebookprofil he writes:

'A Danish family with three children. The parents survived but the three children are apparently perished. I myself have three children, so I know exactly how they have it right now.'

Kieran Arasaratnam is a professor of practice at Imperial College London Business School. He is from Sri Lanka, but moved to the Uk 30 years ago. He was in his room, when he heard something he describes as the sounds of thunder.

'I began to run from 18. floor and down. It was only when I reached to 3. floor, that it dawned on me how bad it was to: Blood all over the place and children, were carried away. Total panic.'

Danish authorities have not confirmed that it should be the children who have died.

the Extra Leaf has contacted the foreign ministry's Citizen service, which will not comment on the information.
