What a festive new year's eve had to be for Bart and his family, from Eeklo, quickly became an emotional rollercoaster of a few days. Just before midnight slipped his beloved dog Lexy to the outside. “There was someone smoking around half past twelve, probably slipped them outside. No one had anything. When the fireworks began, I heard her two times barking in the distance,” he says. Bart tried her footsteps to walk but she walked too fast. “My girl was in full panic, she was intolerable.”cardiac Arrest
It was a start of an emotional quest. “I have as quickly as possible, something on Facebook, and I'm everywhere you want to go driven. I had to find them.” The message of Claus was 3,000 times shared, which led to many reactions. “There were messages from people who had seen or people that make us all the support toewensten. I was really of them under the impression of the warm and sweet people who were willing to help us search.” Until Wednesday, the sad news came, Lexy was found but unfortunately died. “Someone who are hague shave saw her lying, two kilometers from our house. Lexy died of a cardiac arrest, due to the stress.”
It was a hard blow for Bart and his family. “She was a part of our family, our little girl. I had honestly not expected such a blow was, but I was really not good. Our children are also really involved in. There is a void created, that can not just be filled by another dog.” Bart has Lexy to her final resting place given to a tree at their home. “So she remains forever with us. It was really a sweet dog with lots of energy,” says Bart with a crop in the throat.
