Doctor can be a father to 200 children

There were apparently tampered with we, when you got the fertility treatment of the Dutch physician Jan Karbaat.

A court has ruled that there are grounds to suspect the now deceased doctor in order to have replaced donor sperm with his own. Thus, the has 22 of his potential children asked to have checked their DNA against Jan Karbaats.

It can be normally not as donorbarn in the Netherlands, as sæddonerne have the right to anonymity. Because of the very special circumstances of the case the court chose 13. February to give the children a favor. Therefore, they can now get tested their DNA for similarities with Jan Karbaats DNA.

Jan Karbaat refused guilty to all charges, until he died at the age of 89 years in 2017, writes CNN.

A Dutch documentary has insinuated that fertilitetslægen perhaps is the father of up to 200 children through its specialized fertility clinic. So far 47 of the children, the doctor has helped to conceive, had a significant similarity in their DNA with fertilitetslægens son.

Jan Karbaats DNA was requisitioned by the authorities already in 2017, but has been safely locked in a bank vault since, as the judge at the time believed that there was sufficient evidence in the case.

Karbaat managed to work many decades as fertilitetslæge, both in hospitals, a clinic in Rotterdam, and eventually his personal clinic. When his clinic closed in 2009, increased more reports of errors to the surface, including sæddonerne was used too often.
