Bernise was on the Monday morning, 23 July, together with her husband on her way to her son in Waardamme. The woman is from London cycled the mile for her man, who with a mindervalidenscooter was on the way. The Europarotonde in Oostkamp ran the error. The 72-year-old woman came with her electric bike heavy fall and was taken to the hospital. There she died two and a half weeks later from her injuries. What exactly happened is still not entirely clear. According to the initial findings was the woman hit by a vehicle that the roundabout wanted to leave. The driver of the car that Bernise aanreed, continued his way further. On the basis of camera images, police were able to quickly identify.
