a lot of parents got a few weeks back the message that there is no longer a place for their child on a Beverse school. In total there are no fewer than 110 children on a waiting list is reached, an absolute record. Last year there were 75 young people on the waiting list and found almost all still in place, because many parents have their children register for multiple schools.
A number of parents want to take this risk this time, not take and, therefore, decided Wednesday post to grasp for the door of the GTI. That is the only secondary school in Beveren where no waiting list and a dozen places for the first year are vacant. Thursday morning, one may for that remaining free places to register.
Ilse Troubleyn was Wednesday afternoon at half past two the first parent that her kampeerstoeltje bovenhaalde. “I wanted this opportunity really not to be missed,” she explains. “I had my child just enrolled in St. Maarten but I am on place 109. The chance for school is so very small.”
