It remains to be seen what took the life of Angela Madsen.
Her body was discovered by an aircraft from the UNITED states coast guard, which responded promptly when they received the notification. The body was tied fast to the boat, so it is likely that something has gone horribly wrong during her attempt to repair the boat. However, this is still speculation.
Angela Madsen's body was recovered some hours later, when a cargo ship reached the boat.
Angela Madsen won the olympic gold in dobbeltsculler in 2003, 2004 and 2005. She won a OLYMPIC bronze at the paralympic games in the shot put in 2012.
