Death as a neighbour: Avoiding tragedy in the tent

It could have ended in a tragedy, but it remained at the shock of four Norwegian tourists, who Saturday morning got up to a shocking sight at the foot of the waterfall Stallheimskleiva in Norway.

Here they had Friday night camped in the popular hiking paradise Nærøydalen.

Nature turns out, however, not always from his beautiful page. And if the first stones down from the cliffs in the spectacular area, it becomes brutally. There is talk about regular rocks ...

It tried the local pawn Roald Jordalen to inform the visitor, as he drove past on Friday night at around at 22.

It was bad weather, but the snow had begun to melt in recent days, and in addition there was a really lot of rain. So we knew there was a danger of stone fall. I told it to tourists. I said that they should not pitch a tent here, says Jordalen for the Extra Magazine.

He has also spoken to the Norwegian Bergensavisen and VG.

The visiting thanked for the good advice, and promised to be careful. But when Jordalen next morning drove past again, so he continued to the tents to stand in the side of the road.

a Few meters next to it were two big stones, which Jordalen estimated to weigh seven to eight tons. The tourists had not listened, although the invitation ought to be to understand.

Take the tent down or risk life. It is an easy choice, says Jordalen.

Fortunately, he met the little flock alive. They had slept in the tent overnight, but had not been hit.

He describes them as a grasp, but shocked by the night's dramatic events - and happy over their good luck.

And the sound, forget the probably not soon ...

- When these stones will get the free fall several hundred metres, giving it a big jolt. It's violent forces, says Jordalen.

He hopes that his words and picture can be with to penetrate as a warning to the tourists, who in the future intend to visit the scenic area.
