Danish whisky named world's best

The who in 2005 started as a hobby among nine friends in west Jutland, culminating provisionally in the last week in London. At the World Whiskies Awards 2019 was Stauning Scotches Curious namely, voted the world's best product in the category New Make. New Make is the raw alcohol, before the dish adds to its flavor and turns råsprit to the whisky through the multiple years of storage.

"It is the fingerprint of our distillery, our most revealing product, and therefore it is a price that really is an accolade to our quality of craftsmanship and our way to make whisky. To win an award like this is recognition of all the efforts we are making to us - that it pays, and that it can be tasted in the finished bottles", says Hans Martin Hansgaard, co-founder of the Stauning Whisky.

the Story of Stauning Whisky started in the spring of 2005, where nine friends from the west jutland decided to start a hobbyproduktion of single malt whisky up. The motley crowd of four engineers, a teacher, a chef, a butcher, a pilot and a doctor went in their free time to transform the butcher's old slaughterhouse in December for a mini-distillery, and in 2006, rippled the first drops forward.

In 2015 bought Distill Ventures, which is a partner with the English spiritusgigant Diageo Stauning and is now investing more than 100 million crowns in a complete modernisation of the Stauning distillery, which was finished last year.

Diageo, which has a turnover of 100 billions dkk. on the year, has already whiskygiganter as Johnny Walker, Talisker, set in new york city, Oban and Caol Ila.
