Comment to the SPD: don't lose your way let

With your rejection of Hartz IV, the SPD is on the right path. She focuses on social-democratic values and forcing the Union to position itself. The SPD must now show that they can prevail.

The Deputy CDU Chairman Volker Bouffier criticized the SPD wanted to "position it as the protection of the little people". The CSU leader Markus Söder wants to not just talk the talk, "where we spend even more money for social projects". Again, it is momentum in the political debate in Germany. And all this only because the SPD has decided to return to social democratic politics.

The social Democrats were perceived in the past years, too often only as a weak social corrective for the Union parties. Now the voters may finally realize again the differences between the parties. This can be good for our democracy as a Whole. The SPD shows that it has ideas of how she wants to make our country better. This is the basic prerequisite to be in wider layers as an Alternative perceived.

Nevertheless, all is not Gold that glitters. The loss of confidence in the electorate is profound. The social Democrats now need to show that you can implement the very controversial ideas, at least in Parts. Also against the resistance of the Union. The only way the party could build up the lost trust again. A further Problem relates to the public perception of the SPD. You must communicate your concerns better. More important than simple name for the new laws a recognizable unity.
