Two-three times a year I try a car, as I'll want to keep - Citroën C4 Grand Picasso is one of them.
C4 Grand Picasso is the big brother to the C4 Picasso, and distinguishes itself by being 17 cm longer, be 55 mm longer between the axles and carry its own rear end with two torches on top of each other. The rear end is also more steep as a classic station wagon. The price is 20,000 higher than the normal C4 Picasso.
Scroll in the images above and watch a short tv feature on how the rear seats work - and hear the car's ass-annoying warning signals.
the C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso is built on a newly developed platform - EMP2 - a platform that Peugeot-Citroen will use on all of the cars from the Peugeot 308, an upcoming sedan, SUVS and also multibiler, as the Citroën C4 Picassso. It can be extended as needed, and is 262 cm in the Peugeot 308 and 284 cm here.
A 12 inch screen with navigation and rear view camera are standard from 3. the equipment level
compared to the smaller C4 Picasso (without the Grand in the name) is there a better space at the rear seats and in the cargo area - and it is here, that the frenchman really moves the bar up in the classroom.
despite a relatively modest overall length, it has succeeded Citroën to make a ballroom in a relatively compact car, and a few competitors such as the Ford Grand C-max, VW Touran and Renault Grand Scenic to work as shoeboxes. The huge glasarealer contributes of course to the experience, but purely technical, it has succeeded Citroën to wring more cabin-cubic inch of the total length than we are used to.
in Addition, it has succeeded Citroen to give the car something of the distinctive character, as the Citroen was originally world famous for its great comfort and avangardistiske solutions in the undercarriage and cabin.
the luggage compartment has a capacity of 650 litres of luggage - and over 700 litres, if you are running the rear seats forward
Technically, however, there is not much that separates the Citroën C4 Grand Picasso from the competition. It has got active radar and some other electronic works. But it is not the kind that makes the most impression, for we have seen that on VW group cars for many years. At the same time, are the manual gearboxes on the German-japanese level. Funnily enough, seemed the six-speed gearbox for better shifting than the six-speed gearbox, which I have tried in the VW Golf 2.0 TDI. But it is still not on the Mazda.
Listen, stop, held - for the heck of Citroën: In the know, the button for the seat heating must be inserted in the instrument panel. Not between the seats where you can neither see it or get your fingers down without effort
This impressive is the car's comfort. Citroen C4 Grand Picasso is quiet - we have run 175 miles an hour in strong winds and led the muffled conversations with passengers in the back seat. The suspension is comfortable, which, I believe, a Citroën should be - but fortunately, without going significantly out of styreegenskaberne and the car's manøvreevner in high speed.
Five pluses of Citroën C4 Grand Picasso:
Bagsædernes feature (see TV news)
Nice støjkomfort and suspension
Comfortable Citroënsk suspension
Five minuses at the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso
Excruciating semiautomatic gearbox
Long response time of the touch screen
Alarms for everything - the doors are open, the braces are not set in, etc.
The 115 hp diesel is at the bottom, and the 150 hp diesel with a new automatic transmission comes first in a few months '
the C4 Picasso is not available with the 125 hp turbo-benziner, which is in the Peugeot 308.
What should you buy?
do you Have any advice, you should go for the 150 hp diesel and keep you from the semiautomatic gearboxes, as in the price list known as ETG6. The switches piv-rings, and is only on the market because the PSA has not been able to afford to develop something better ...
