‘Butcher of the Dampoort’ gets 30 years in prison after stabbing ex-wife in the eyes of their children

Ghent, A 44-year-old man from the Tree was given 30 years in prison in the Ghent court of appeal for the murder of his ex-wife. In broad daylight he put out in Ghent, his ex-wife Rhizlène Tlarhi at least 25 times, before the eyes of their young children. “This is the butcher of the Dampoort”, said the attorney-general on appeal.

Salah E., a Moroccan who has spent several decades in the Tree lives, terrorized his wife. He threatened her with death, and frequently used violence. When Rhizlène on march 23, 2016 to the police stepped in and under the guidance of her stuff showed up, tried E. her to strangle. The police could rescue her. Rhizlène stayed in various shelters with her young children, and got a few weeks before her death a property assigned in Ghent. She saw her ex, only when it is their children off.
