Born as a man: Now she will be Miss Norway

27. July of this year, this year's Miss Norway will be announced. And this year it will be particularly interesting. Among semifinalisterne is the 26-year-old Eirin Grinde Tunheim, who came to Norway from Thailand at the age of 13. She was in fact born as a boy. The beautiful Eirin Grinde Tunheim went in Thailand under the name of Fun Tuai-Tun, when she in 2006 moved to Norway together with his mother, his stepfather and his older sister and older brother.

Behind the Eirins beautiful exterior hides also a hardworking, serious woman, who lives in the Norwegian town of Tromsø, where she is studying to be a dentist. And when tandlægestudiet is finished, Eirin going to start on a bachelor's degree in civiløkonomi.

For Extra Magazine tells Eirin Grinde Tunheim, that she is extremely happy to participate in the Miss Norway:

- It is a great pleasure for me. But on social media, I have also received many nasty messages. It takes me however, not so much. I will fight for diversity and for the kind of persons as I am, tells Eirin.

- When did you actually wish that you could be a woman?

It started way back, when I was about three years old, while we lived in Thailand. I have almost always felt like a woman.

In Thailand were reactions against Eirins feminine radiance is not so fierce, as she saw it when she came to Norway as a 13-year-old.

In Thailand, it was in my generation become more normal, there were some boys who wanted to be girls and lived as girls. In the generation before, however, it was not so accepted, tell Eirin to the Extra Blade, adding:

- When I came to Norway as a 13-year-old, it was all very different. The first three months I showed, not that I felt like a girl. But then I started to meet up in school wearing makeup. And then asked the boys in the class, if I was homosexual, and so I said, ' yes.' And after that I was pretty much bullied every day at school by both boys and girls.

- But I was actually very lucky, because I was good at all subjects in school. And it focused people on instead of focusing on that I would be a girl instead of a boy, tells Eirin and says that she has after three years in Sweden almost completely looked like a girl, even though she had not yet undergone his gender reassignment surgery, which was made in 2011.

Eirin is also proud that she has been given a female identity number in Norway. It is instrumental to, that she now feels 100 percent as a woman.

- After my gender reassignment surgery worked I targeted a full year to get a Norwegian citizenship. And when I had got it, I could finally get a female identity number, tell Eirin. In Norway is such that women's social security numbers end in an even number, while the men ends on an odd number just as in Denmark.

- How do you think your chances are of winning a fun Miss Norway?

- of course, I would like to win the competition. But not only to become Miss Norway. But because I want to fight for freedom. I will fight for the freedom to determine your own gender and for the freedom to be yourself and love those who you want to love, tell Eirin to Ekstra Bladet.
