Bob Dylan tops uk album charts

Bob Dylan's new album, 'Rough and Rowdy Days' racing to the top of the uk album chart.

The 79-year-old american is the oldest musician ever to have number one on the list with a newly released album.

It writes the BBC.

Dylan pass Paul, Simon, who was 74 years old, when his album 'Stranger Two Stranger' in 2016, was number one.

Includes one opsamlingsalbummer, the recently deceased Vera Lynn record. In 2009, she topped the list as the 92-year-old with the greatest hits album "We'll Meet Again'.

'Rough and Rowdy Days" is Dylan's first release of new songs in eight years.

the Album has been praised to the skies by reviewers. The Guardian describes it as 'a testament of his eternal greatness', while the BBC believes that the album is a perfect example of an artist in the 70s can still have something to offer.

- It is not trying to impress or please, wrote the BBC's critic Will Gompertz.

- But if it was a painting, I would describe it as a masterpiece, he concluded.

Bob Dylan was the first time the number one on the british chart of albums for 56 years ago. His new album is number 39 in his career.

As the number two on this week's chart, it appears Neil Young - another veteran who also has passed the 70 year - with 'Homegrown'.

the Album was released 19. June of this year and consists of songs that are recorded but never previously published, 45 years ago, the now 74-year-old Young.

- It is a quite extraordinary performance by Bob Dylan and Neil Young. I could imagine, that they are not expected to peak the charts together (in 2020), since they began over 50 years ago, says Martin Talbot, who is the director of the Official Charts Company, which compiles the charts, to the BBC.

It is the ninth time that Bob Dylan has an album on first place in the Uk. Thus he comes up on the side of Queen and Abba.

On this week's list is Lady Gaga number three with 'Chromatica'. Then follows Lewis Capaldi with 'Divinely Uninspired' and Harry Styles of 'Fine Line'.
