Around the lake of Annecy, between the castle, the beaches and the bike

Browse the edges of lake Annecy at your own pace, relax at the edge of turquoise waters particularly dear to Cézanne takes a quite particular flavour at the end of the long parenthesis confined. In this idyllic scene, the hour is calm and the scenery : the ideal occasion to discover, or rediscover, by foot, by car or bicycle to everything that makes the charm of this place set with a beautiful string of mountains. And the beatings of the heart are numerous on this route, fan of nature, culture, relaxation... or all three at once !

Begin our walk through the right bank (in the direction of Veyrier at the start of Annecy), in order to move on the lake side and enjoy frequently beautiful openings on its water known and recognized for their purity and their shades of blue-green constantly renewed.

First landmark, the castle of Menthon (Twelfth century) which towers above the village of Menthon-Saint-Bernard of his high stature. This little gem belongs to the same family for a thousand years and can be proud of having been a source of inspiration for Walt Disney in person... Excuse me a bit !

a Few miles away, the bay of Talloires offers a stage of choice because it is indisputable... It has it all ! At the crossroads of the large and small lake, it forms a beautiful cove dominated by the Rock of Dear and its natural reserve and you can go on foot. It is home to hotels and restaurants the iconic image of The Abbey, rich with a past millennium or the Inn of the Father's Kiss, directed by chef michelin-starred Jean Sulpice. Finally, it provides a point of view amazing on the tip of & Duingt and its beautiful castle... Hard to resist.

Pushing this up to the Reservation by the End of the lake, Doussard . A discovery trail of 1.7 km has been constructed to plunge into the atmosphere of this last great wetland edges of the lake. It allows everyone access to the reedbed, bird-watching or even the beavers...

Begin to close the loop by joining the left bank, the charming village of & Duingt and its three castles : Châteauvieux beautifully laid out on its promontory, the fortress of the Eleventh century, transformed into a dwelling, residential (private, no visitors) in the Eighteenth century by the family of the maquis of Sales but also Dhéré, at the entrance of the val d ' Entrevernes (privately, not to visit), and Chateauneuf, of which there are still only the hexagonal tower. The point of view changes completely, with the background now the beautiful peaks of the spin-coating and of the Teeth of Lanfon.

At Saint-Jorioz , take the time to stroll along the theme trail of the reeds, and play hide-and-seek with their many water birds, a lovely walk starting from the pier, close to the beach.

and Then, the last step before Annecy, Sevrier famous for its Paccard Foundry, foundry campaniste from generation to generation since 1796 flowing 500 to 600 bells per year on average (museum expanded and renovated this year ). Very beautiful promenade equipped also, called Sen, on the edge of the water.

A good dozen of beaches around the lake of Annecy. Post-containment force, their access is not authorized, therefore it is not possible to soak, or bathe in the mode of leisure, at least until the 2 June.

To date, only the open water swimming is permitted in the lake. You can also practice water activities and aquatic sports (sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, paddle, snorkeling) or recreation (fishing, paddle boats, pleasure boats and passenger). All in respect of actions barrier, and measures of distance.

FOR ATHLETES

It is a pure pleasure to browse the edges of the lake to bike, most of the time on the bike path (very busy however in season).

We will give priority to the sense of clockwise, starting from for example the Small Port, Annecy-le-Vieux direction Veyrier-du-Lac to get down (and not up...) the odds quite apparent between the rock of Dear and Talloires. Many points of view superb in the course of the journey, in particular to the approach of & Duingt where the trail overlooks the road and the lake.

... or walk !

For the more adventurous, the tower in the lake is also by foot ! This great route allows you to appreciate at its own pace the charm of its various surroundings. Night possible along the way to midway. At & Duingt, for example, if one starts the loop to Annecy via Sevrier.
