Against decommissioning: German brothels are open

Brothels all over Germany will on Thursday hold an open house. It happens in protest of the closure of the industry, which is gradually pushing thousands of sex workers hard on the economy.

the Organizers of the open house event believe, that there can once again be given the green light to open for brothels, if they comply with the tight requirements of hygiene.

Laura, who is looking for the Lauras Girls in Karlsruhe, says she must turn the key on, if not her last in september may reopen her brothel.

She has long tried to engage in a dialogue with the responsible politicians.

- We are not being heard, " says Laura, who does not want to disclose his surname to the news agency dpa.

She considers that the restrictions introduced to curb the spread of infection in Germany, pushing sex workers out of illegal work.

There is, according to the dpa no reliable data on how many sex workers there are in Germany.

In 2018 registered 32.800 persons as sex workers in the context of a new law that among other things, to protect the prostitutes.

Many sex workers to register, however, only if they are forced to do it - for example, if their employer requires it.
