A young woman was bitten by the dog on vacation: Now she is dead

some months ago there was a Norwegian woman in 20's on a journey in Southeast asia, where she was bitten by a dog. Now the woman died of the deadly viral disease rabies, which is also known as hydrophobia, after she was infected by the dog.

last Thursday was the hospital, where she was treated, knowing that the woman had been bitten by the dog on the journey. Saturday revealed a sample that she had been infected with rabies, a serious viral infection which can be fatal.

despite the fact that the Norwegian woman received intensive treatment at the hospital in Førde, it was too late, and on Monday night she slept in.

What is rabies?

" Rabies, or hydrophobia, is known in Denmark as a viral disease which makes dogs, cattle, bats and other animals sick, aggressive, and finally slay them. In Denmark, the disease is recent years only been found in bats, but the disease can affect both animals and humans.

Rabies is caused by a virus, which among other things, eventually attacking the nervous system, and which is excreted in the saliva. When the animal with rabies gets sick, it can find to bite, and people are infected since most often by bites from dogs, bats and monkeys.
