The basic training course for Civil Protection was completed in recent days. 32 individuals with a desire to help others were certified as Civil Protection volunteers in Andalusia. Participants from Ibros and Beas de Segura, Linares and Siles came to Ubeda, where they joined eight Ubetenses.
The online course and face-to-face practice sessions were both 45 hours long. These were broken down into three modules. The first module offered fire fighting training. It was led by the chief of the fire prevention and extinction rescue service. He also provided some basic information. Participants were also able to extinguish a fire using an extinguisher.
The second module consisted in the execution of first aid procedures, which involved a doctor from 061 and a nurse from 061. The third module dealt with handling telecommunications equipment, which was taught by the Ubeda volunteer leader.
