According to police reports, a 19-year-old was raped in Hanover's Eilenriede city forest on Sunday evening. Two men are said to have held the woman in the wooded area and performed sexual acts on her. The police are looking for possible witnesses - including a couple who walked a dog during the crime period - and are asking the public for help.
According to the 19-year-old, she entered the city forest around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. Shortly thereafter, she noticed that she was being followed by two men. One of the attackers held her a little later near a miniature golf course, while the second carried out sexual acts on her. According to the woman, she defended herself with punches and kicks, after which the men let her go and she was able to flee the forest. The 19-year-old fell into a kind of ditch. From there, she alerted the police. This found the slightly injured woman a little later.
Despite an immediate search, the alleged perpetrators remained missing. The woman described one of the men as around 40 years old and 1.70 to 1.85 meters tall and slim. At the time of the crime, the man was wearing blue jeans and light-colored sneakers. He was also bald. His accomplice, who is said to have held her, is also described as around 40 years old and 1.70 to 1.85 meters tall. He was of strong build, had short dark hair and wore a three-day beard. During the crime he was wearing black jogging pants and a dark quilted jacket. According to the woman, both men spoke with an Eastern European accent.
The police are now looking for witnesses who saw the woman, the two men or the three people together. The 19-year-old with long blonde hair wore a beige hoodie, blue jeans, white sneakers and a statement blue tote bag that night. Of particular interest is a couple that the woman met shortly before the crime. The two people were walking a dog wearing a light collar.
