17-year-old is said to have operated drug taxi service

In a large-scale operation, the Hamburg police executed four arrest warrants and 18 search warrants on suspicion of drug trafficking.

A 17-year-old and a 22-year-old are said to have operated an organized drug delivery service on different communication platforms, the police said on Thursday.

At least nine accomplices between the ages of 18 and 30 are said to have delivered the drug after receiving orders in the Hamburg city area.

During the searches of several apartments and a commercial property, the police found, among other things, 5,000 euros in cash, 700 grams of marijuana and some pistols and stabbing weapons.

Four men were arrested, the 17-year-old suspected main perpetrator was taken to the magistrate.

In order to implement an arrest order issued by the court against the 17-year-old main perpetrator in the amount of almost 20,000 euros, the police officers also seized various valuables from him. A suspect's car was also confiscated as a crime.

As part of the investigation, officials also came across three 15-year-olds who were preparing for a similar deal. Separate proceedings are now under way against the young people.

A few days ago, drug investigators also arrested a 35-year-old suspected of dealing in large quantities of drugs.

"In investigations lasting several months, the suspicion that the man had dealt with a total of around 5.5 kilograms of cocaine, 26 kilograms of marijuana and three kilograms of amphetamine had been confirmed based on the evaluation of Encrochat messages," says a spokesman.

The public prosecutor's office in Hamburg then obtained an arrest warrant against the man from the district court, as well as a search warrant for his registered address.

A mobile phone and a high-quality wristwatch were seized from the arrested person. "A little later, investigators carried out the search warrant in the man's apartment in Lurup," said the spokesman. "Because it was apparently uninhabited, officers found no further evidence inside."

The suspect was treated by the police and was then taken to the detention center.
