According to the Deputy Minister of defence Ruwan Wijewardene, the persons responsible have been identified already. He spoke of a "terrorist incident" and of the "extremist groups".
Unclear, whether German among the VictimsAmong the victims, according to police reports, 35 foreigners - yet U.S. citizens, the British and the Dutch have been confirmed. Whether Germans were killed, attempts to inform the Embassy in Sri Lanka, "high-pressure", said foreign Minister Heiko Maas. "Germans resident in Sri Lanka, should think of the stop places, and the instructions of the authorities," advised the Maas.
