Approximately 1400 drivers that is measured to run at least 30 percent of the heavily on the Danish motorways in 2020, have been given a wrong tillægsbøde because of a datofejl.

Tillægsbøderne have been on the 1000 dollars on regular basis and 2000 dollars on sections of motorway with roadworks.
the Reason is a programming error in the sagsbehandlingssystemet.
This has meant that from 1. January 27. may is given a wrong tillægsbøde to approximately 1400 drivers who have violated speed limits by at least 30 percent of the Danish motorways.
It is an external supplier, which is responsible for system ATKS, and according to police has not able to find how the error has occurred.
Police became aware of the error 26. may.
- It is a damaging and annoying errors. Drivers who violate the established speed limits, must have a fine, but they of course do not have an extra tillægsbøde.
- Our provider has identified the error and corrected it, saying the police commissioner in the national Police Lene Frank in the communication.
She says further, that all affected drivers will get a letter from the police in the coming weeks, where the police explain the error and tell them what they should do.
- But of course, they get drivers who have paid the wrong ne being increased, automatically the money back, she says.
the Police have set up a group of case managers who carefully review all cases. It is expected that cases are finalised by mid-July. It does not however apply to the cases which have been in court and is settled with a judgment.
Earlier in the month came another case forward on the fines, as the police have been issued by mistake.
It was Sydsjællands and Lolland-Falster Police, who could tell that it had issued 456 incorrect fines imposed by the speed measurements on the stretch in Guldborgsund.
The fines was due to the fact that the police took as its starting point a lower speed limit than there actually was on the line.
