The strong explosion was the house to crumble in the Hague

the Explosion took place at the Jan van der Heijdenstraat in the Hague at 16 o'clock on the Sunday, and images from the site shows how a large part of the facade of an apartment block has collapsed, writes the Dutch RTL.

Three apartments have been destroyed in what is referred to as a gas explosion.

" I sat and drank a glass of wine when everything started shaking, it was horrible. When we went out on the street we were greeted by a huge chaos, an eyewitness account of the RTL.

nine people are unearthed beneath the rubble but at the 20-time had the rescuers made contact with a 28-year-old man via his cell phone. The man was stuck under the rubble and the rescue workers worked frantically to try to get him out, writing the RTL.

At midnight the news came that the man rescued after eight hours in their demolished apartment. He was taken alive to the hospital.

Emergency personnel and a special traumaenhet in a helicopter are on site.
