the arctic Fox is a protected species and the efforts to save the species has been going on for decades. Around the year 2000, there was only a 60-tal arctic foxes in the Swedish-Norwegian mountain range.
But now it is beginning to turn. Measures as supplementary feeding and hunting of red foxes, which compete for food and dens, have produced results.
– It is now we are starting to see the real increase. Last year we had the whole 100 hills and it is really great, " says Malin König responsible for work with endangered species at the County administrative board in Västerbotten, to the channel.
