Blodmånen can disappear in rimtåge and clouds

on Monday morning there will for the last time in the next 10 years be a so-called blodmåne over Denmark.

At 3.36 a shadow start to slip into over the moon, and from the bell 5.41 to 6.43 there will be a total lunar eclipse. In the period of the total lunar eclipse will the moon appear red, the so-called blodmåne.

- It will be around minus two to minus five degrees over the whole country, but in the early hours of the morning it will be cold. It will be warmer in the course of the day, says Janice Brødsgaard from DMI.

Cold is not the only thing that can hinder to see blodmånen Monday morning. Most of the country will be covered by a rimfrosttåge, which makes it hard to see the red moon.

- Residents in north-western Jutland can perhaps see the moon, when the mist is passed through at the time. Residents at the coast on the islands of Lolland and Falster might also be lucky to get clear weather, says Janice Brødsgaard.

There is, according to the DMI is a chance that rimtågen not become a problem early Monday morning, as it can be driven away. But then there's a new problem for blodmåne-lustful danes.
