A passenger machine of the type 737 with 140 people on Board veered off the US-military airport, Jacksonville of the slope and in an adjacent river landed. All occupants would have survived, informed the local police via Twitter.

This will also Jacksonville mayor, Lenny Curry wrote Friday night on Twitter. Police have released photos from the scene with the plane in the water. The airport announced that the plane had come from the naval base at Guantánamo. Against 21.40 PM the machine was brought down at the end of the runway in the St. Johns river. The cause of the accident was initially unclear. Jacksonville is located on the East coast of the USA in the state of Florida.

The pictures from Jacksonville remember a similar incident from January of 2009: at that Time, only three minutes after the Start of the New York airport La Guardia is an Airbus A320 of the company, US Airways had to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River. All 155 people on Board survived the crash in the icy waters. The masterful performance of the pilot was hailed as a "miracle on the Hudson" - and later made into a movie.
