10. august 1976 was Jan kidnapped for the second time. Berchtold called for her at her room about the night. Again there was a patch where it was stated that Jan had gone, and not planning to come back. The patch was signed Jan, but was probably written by Berchtold.
This time expecting the family two weeks before they called the FBI.
We were terrified that it would come out that she was kidnapped again. We would not that it should reach the press. We told people that she was at his grandmother's house, " says Mary Ann to Netflix.
