Chinese director Zhang Yimous film is withdrawn from the Berlinfestival

on Monday announced the festival to Zhang Yimous ”One second” will not appear as planned because of ”technical problems in post production”. The film is set during the so-called cultural revolution, which is a controversial period in China's history over the years 1966-1976. The festival will instead show Zhangs film ”Hero” from 2002.

”One second” is the second chinese film withdrawn from this year's Berlin film festival. In the past, it was clear that ”Better days” would not be shown in the Generation 14Plus, the festival's section from the ungdomsfilm, because it should not have been finished in time. According to the sources of Variety was based, however, the decision on censorship, and the magazine also writes about the possibility that the ”One second” stopped for political reasons.
