Employers continue to insist on smart road pricing

Employers ' organization Voka and the Walloon and Brussels counterparts, UWE and BECI continue to insist on the roll-out of a smart road pricing in the next legislature. That is in a list of twelve priorities for the next governments, that the three are presenting today at the prime minister's office and the three regional heads of government.

The three employers ' organisations have come up with a list of twelve priorities for the next federal, Flemish, Walloon and Brussels governments. The road pricing was long also high in the priority list of N-VA-minister for Mobility Ben Weyts, but was recently buried in the "lack of support". Also governing parties CD&V and Open Vld apply for a tax increase without solid alternatives to the car. The employers still want to continue, though the three regions have the same system and should the charge depend on place, time and the emissions of the vehicle.
