Discovery Benelux is taking its first steps within the video-on-demand. The company launched Dplay, a service which all programs of channels Discovery, TLC and Investigation Discovery. Think of realityprogramma’Gold Rush’ (gold prospectors in Alaska), ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ (forthcoming brides that the perfect dress to figure out), ‘Ed Stafford: Left for Dead’ (Where survivalexperts explain how you can survive in extreme locations), or ‘Dr. Pimple Popper’ (About dermatologe and YouTube star Sandra Lee).
The service is free of charge, albeit to a limited extent; viewers are taking advertising to see when they don't pay. The real fans can also opt for a premium version which 3,99 euro per month costs. The three tv-channels live view and all the programs also. They are conveniently divided into categories such as ‘ adventure or food, . The service was already launched in Scandinavia, Italy and Spain.
